Living Appropriately: Musings From a History Teacher in Colombia

Educational Philosophy

This page especially has a long way to go to get where I eventually want it to be, but for now I can think of no better quote that succinctly summarizes how I view education:

“True liberal education requires the student’s whole life be radically changed by it, that what he learns may affect his action, his tastes, his choices, that no previous attachment be immune to examination and hence re-evaluation.  Liberal education puts everything at risk and requires students who are able to risk everything.”
